Upcycle Fashion Camp

Ages 11+!

About this experience

Learning to sew your own clothes is even more fun and affordable when you can source materials from your own drawers and closets (and those of your family if they are willing!)

You can extend the life of clothes that have damage or are too small by taking them apart and making new things, and save them from the landfill!

This camp is for ages tween/teen 11-17, and over the course of 15 hours, we will dive into upcycling and get inspired with the possibilities of playing with our wardrobe. Projects will include adding applique to a garment, creating cuffs on a pre-existing top or pants and a personal project of choice.

Personal projects do not have to be just clothing; tote bags, cushions or keepsakes can be created based on what each individual decides they would like to create.

Some previous sewing experience will be an asset, but Paloma Joy will help student get more comfortable on the machines throughout the week as well.

Send your teen in for some screen-free creative exploration and challenge! Please pack a lunch and water bottle:) Students are also instructed to bring any old clothes they want to use- not just their own but from the whole house! Lace tablecloths, old ties, jeans, things that are torn or worn are all ideal!
