Pattern: Classic Bra (Bra Makers Supply), Ruby Bra (Bra Makers Supply),
Lotus Bra  (Wireless by LilyPad Designs), or Lanai Wireless Bra (LilyPad Designs)

  • Bra fabric (duoplex and powernet)

  • Bra findings (refer to pattern for findings list)

  • 2 x spool of coordinating quality polyester thread

  • 1 set of Underwires (Jenny will bring wires to sell as you will not be able to determine the size in advance)

(* please do not use black on black for your first bra as it makes it very challenging when you're trying to learn!)

Other thing you need for this workshop:

  • Sewing machine in good working order with zigzag option

  • Stretch sewing machine needles size 75/11 and microtex needles (if possible)

  • Schmetz Stretch sewing machine needle 75/11

  • Sharp pins and clips (if you have clips)

  • Fabric marking pen (one that washes out if disappears with heat)

  • Sharp scissors/rotary cutter

  • Sewing mat and weights

  • Pattern tracing paper

  • Thread (Mettler or Gutermann * no drugstore threads please)

You can purchase any of these tools at The Spool if you don't have them (for home sewing), and use The Spools Tools during the class!

Equipment needed: You will need to bring your own sewing machine to this workshop. Please make sure that your machine has a zigzag stitch! Although the Spool is equipped with machines, students will want to establish the ideal settings for their own machines to allow sewing bras at home!

Please note that the first bra you make is not likely to be the "perfect fit". This course is your stepping stone into the world of bra-making and we strongly encourage you to make another right after the course finishes using your fit feedback and pattern changes.
