Chaos Quilts for a Calm Heart

Use up wee scraps, and find a peaceful time of sewing.

About this experience

Things can be crazy in life, but we can find a quiet space in sewing, a chance to recharge and connect before going back to responsiblities and the work of building a better world.

This one-day class is all about using up the wee bits of fabric, the scraps and remnants and bits of old clothes.

It's a chance to throw accuracy to the wind and to settle into a rhythm of zipping through seams without a plan, to create a quilt that is as random and lovely as a bowl of salsa, a great stew, a bag of confetti.

We don't worry about seam allowance, and we let our inner perfectionist go, as we build up quilt blocks.

You can bring materials and use ours, and you will be invited to donate blocks to our Community Quilt initiative that a high school student is organizing.

Children ages 7+ are welcome to join if accompanied by an adult (reserve two space unless you will be sharing a machine)
