Learn to make your own clothes!

If you've gotten a bit of sewing under your belt and you are ready for the next step, join Nicole as she guides you through the process of making simple garments.

We will work with you before the class to individually choose an appropriate pattern that will allow you to finish your whole project in the workshop (no guarantees of course, but we try our best)! Tshirts, simple pants, dresses, baby clothes and more. People who've taken this class before and want to challenge themselves are welcome as well Experienced sewists may want to come with patterns and fabric already prepared and cut so they can get to the more challenging aspects.

Before class, each student will get individual help selecting fabric, working through the patterns sizing guide and understanding how to read the back to get everything you need. Please come in with enough time to wash and dry your fabric before the first class. You can choose of of our selected patterns at a 20% discount, or get in touch if you have something else in mind. I created the above collection with the goal of achievable patterns for a six hour class.

During class time, we will go in depth in selecting sizes, prepping and cutting your pattern and fabric, and constructing and finishing a whole garment. Folks who select and prepare a more complex project may dive into the sewing and get to things like zippers, plackets, fancy seams and more!

For beginners, we really focus on construction, so a loose fitting, simple garment is best to start with, so that you can save detailed fitting challenges for a different project. We have a number of appropriate patterns, including basic linen or cotton pants, tshirts, simple dresses. You can choose stretchy (knit) or woven fabric. We work on gorgeous seam finishing so you can have a simple garment that you are so proud of!
