If time allows, manipulating the lower torso into pants as well. \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e Once established, we will go into how to use blocks to create different patterns, design features and manipulations.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePrerequisite knowlegdge\/skill level \u003c\/strong\u003e- Several years sewing experience and working with pre-made patterns, math calculations with decimals or fractions. This class involves homework some weeks like sewing together a \"muslin\" for fitting. \u003cstrong\u003eThis is NOT an appropriate class if you are just learning to sew your clothes, as almost all sewing will happen at home, and the focus is on drafting!\u003c\/strong\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSkills you will learn\u003c\/strong\u003e - How to properly measure the appropriate dimensions on you bodies, how to create a body block step by step, creating patterns from blocks, fitting a muslin of said block and making adjustments to it, creating different styles and garments.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMaterials\u003c\/strong\u003e -We provide all paper and extra pencils, rulers and curves, as well as provide written instructions and calculation worksheets. Students will need a mechanical pencil and eraser, see-thru rulers and curves if they have them (quilting ones are great), and will need spare woven fabric (broadcloth, muslin, etc) for their fit muslin. We will have some tools for people and will have some available for purchase if you want to continue this at home!
