Playing with Perfectionism
If fear of making mistakes gets in the way of your having fun, this is for you!Cost:
$45.00 per personAbout this experience
Join us in "playing with perfectionism" in an informative and fun workshop with sewing teacher Nicole Bertram and counsellor Kasia Stepien.
Many of us experience the double-bind of perfectionism - sometimes it helps us, sometimes it hinders us. We'll learn about common ways perfectionism shows up in our lives that are both helpful and unhelpful. Then you get to put what you've learned into practice! We'll do a patchwork sewing activity that invites us to notice our own perfectionistic habits, and helps us put them aside for the sake of fun, freedom, and other important values.
Previously run as "Chaos Quilting for a Calm Heart", we've invited Kasia in to talk about perfectionism while we sew and how it can affect other aspects of our lives.
Participants will be given a selection of fabrics and create a "chaos block" that invites playfulness, improvisation, and letting go. Blocks can be turned into pockets, hot pads, or maybe- you'll enjoy it so much you just keep going!
All the seam rippers... will be HIDDEN!
