Punch-Needle Rug Hooking

Punch-Needle Rug Hooking

Weekend Workshop!  June 2&3, hours TBA

It's possible that Punch Needle rug hooking is the most satisfying things I've tried!  Using high quality Amy Oxford Needle Punch sets, Saltspring Island Wool, hand-dyed by our Guest instructor Sheila Stewart of Blue Heron Studios, and a kit also set up by our lovely instructor, learn all the steps and skills you need to make a gorgeous dragonfly tapestry. All the materials are included, though if you've got wool you'd like to include, to make colour changes, you are welcome!

Sheila Stewart has been a rug hooker since 2002.  She is originally from Nova Scotia and discovered rug hooking while on a trip to Nova Scotia visiting relatives and exploring her roots.  She attended rug school in Nova Scotia in 2004 and then began attending the McGown Teacher’s Workshop in Eugene, Oregon.  In 2009, she became a McGown Accredited Teacher of Traditional Rug Hooking.  She has also taken courses in punch needle rug hooking.  She enjoys teaching, dyeing, and spreading her enthusiasm about this wonderful art and craft.  She is the owner/operator of the Blue Heron Rug Hooking Studio in Victoria, British Columbia.
