Quilting for The Terrified but Eager- This one night intro into a few skills you'll want to start with is a great way to skip a lot of mistakes! We will make a simple four-patch panel, and you will learn: How to cut with a rotary cutter, getting clean 1/4" seams, proper pressing, basic straight line quilting, and easy binding. This class is a great start before joining any of our other quilt classes, freeing you up to build skills in each class. Materials included.

February 17th- 9AM-3PM; $110, materials included

Making It Modern: Exploring Quilt Design with Marni McMahan

According to the Modern Quilting Guild, what makes a quilt modern is “the use of bold colors and prints, high contrast and graphic areas of solid color, improvisational piecing… or the updating of classic quilt designs”.
In this retreat-style workshop you will:
• Create a unique quilt in the modern style
• Start with classic quilt blocks
• Consider figure and ground when you create
You will leave with a small quilt, 24"x24" that is your own unique design.

Bring a lunch, tea will be a-brewing all day long! *SD71 Discount doesn't apply to Guest Teacher classes!

March 17th, 12-4PM

Wonky Log Cabin Cushion $60

In this class, you will learn to play with the traditional log cabin form with angles and colour and contrast. We will then quilt it and make a cushion cover! Bring a cushion form - either one you'd like to re-cover, or a new one. Smaller may be better to ensure a finished project. Also bring 6-10 fabrics you love. I suggest getting a 1/4m of each, but NOT a fat quarter- we will want long strips. This is a good chance to look through your stash at home, or talk to quilters you know, to affordably get a nice range. We will pull our our bins of fabrics as well!
