Quilting for the Terrified but Eager: Classic Blocks

Quilting for the Terrified but Eager: Classic Blocks

October 12-26, Thursday evenings 6-8pm

Quilting is an age old way of making the most of our textiles, yet it can be so intimidating to begin; all those perfectly scant 1/4" seams and perfect little corners and straight lines! EEK!

If you've taken our first QTE class (or had similar experiences on your own), you've learned some of those skills and are ready to build to some new kinds of blocks. We will go over Log Cabin variations, Half-Square-Triangles, and Improvising, as well as discussing colour, patterns and more. There is the option of doing homework to create a larger project, but no pressure to do so! The emphasis here is on the blocks themselves, and the creative process, rather than the quilting and binding- please take our QTE 1 class if you need to learn the finishing techniques~

Materials are included, as you can patch together a cohesive and interesting project with The Spool's collection of varied cottons! However, if you have a selection of quilting cottons or even old clothes you'd like to incorporate, or have specific colours and themes in mind, please bring whatever you like!
