"The moment I saw Tauko magazine online, I knew The Spool needed to be a stockist. What better product celebrating slow fashion, sustainability, humanity and creativity is there? The value of magazines with multiple patterns is very exciting as well! 10 patterns for the cost of what normally would be two new patterns? Yes please!"
For our 4th issue we are slowing down and take a look at what grows right next to our feet. The issue is dedicated to the fungi world, understanding mycorrhiza and introducing the basics for creating natural dyes with mushrooms. The magazine features 10 sewing patterns by independent designers inspired by the fungi and plant world. Making use of soft linen, wool, poplin and hand dyed fabrics the dresses, trousers and jackets come with many variations for differently skilled sewists. All patterns come in 9 sizes from bust width 31” / 78cm to 57.5” / 146cm.

TAUKO Magazine continues our story of finding new, regenerative, and empowering ways to celebrate design and clothes. It’s a start for positive system change. Our background is in running an awarded sustainable fashion brand, and we’ve become very familiar with design, pattern making, collection presentation, international fashion weeks – learning how clothing matter only when there is a personal connection to it.
TAUKO stands for a break or a pause in Finnish. It describes a strong, silent, and still movement that is almost impossible to notice.
