Teens have a blast in these supportive self-directed after school classes!

Making sure that we cover the basics they need by making a project bag is the only project I choose- after that, we work together to pick something they are interested in but able to make. Examples can be making tshirts, quilts, bags, stuffies and all kinds of things they make up!

Minimum age is 12 years old, but you know your kid best. A young 12 year old may prefer being with younger kids, and other 12 year olds may bristle at being with young kids and prefer being with teens.

My classes are mixed age (3-4:15 is elementary, 4:30-6 is later elementary and high school), mixed experience and all over the map for project choices and learning styles, so I just flow around giving each kid what they need. With only 6-8 kids per class, there is lots of individual attention and kids are also encouraged to use waiting time to experiment and "make something weird"- and boy do they!

Sewing classes are a mix of sewing skills, art making, life skills (working as a team, cleaning up after themselves, taking turns, supporting each other, planning through projects and so much more). Teen classes are strictly cell-phone free, kids are encouraged to leave the phone at home, but if they bring it, it goes into the Phone-u-copia basket until the end of class.

Investment: $430.50, materials included (with the caveat that if they need something very specific that I don't have, you may need a trip to fabricland). Due at the beginning of the session (monthly payment plans available!) Today: $50 non-refundable deposit.

Dates: April 4- June 20

* Please note, make up classes are not available for missed classes. At the same time, we ask that you keep sick kids home- as I often say "If Nicole gets sick, nobody gets to sew!". Kids who are coughing or sniffling and sneezing will be asked to wear a mask, so if you prefer not to have them in a mask, they are asked to stay home. We prioritize caring for each other and keeping our community from getting sick, and try to be a space that is safe for our older clients and our immuno-compromised students, of whom we have many.

Please write in the purchase notes your child's name and age.
